Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle, WA
If you're looking for somewhere to go to escape the unexpected rain or drizzle that can be all too familiar in the Pacific Northwest, the Conservatory, at Volunteer Park in Seattle, is a perfect place to go. With a low admission
cost of $4 a person, its greenhouse contains a few different sections for a bit of musing. And for those, like me, who haven't been blessed with a green thumb, it offers inspiration to reconsider your failed attempts at keeping plants alive, and to perhaps try again. Although I am not a desert person, I did find the cactus and succulent room to be my favorite. My husband, who is originally from Tucson, Arizona, also felt quite at home in this room. :) And after the rain stops, it's nice to head outside and explore the rest of the park. Several tall trees are scattered throughout the park offering a peaceful atmosphere to take a long stroll.
